D’ARIA BLUSH

VINIFICATION: The Merlot grapes are picked by hand at an early stage; while the Sauvignon blanc grapes, also picked by hand, are allowed longer hang time. The varieties are pressed and fermented separately, the Merlot given just a hint of skin contact to impart delicate colour to the wine. The two wines are then blended in a 60:40 ratio.

DESCRIPTION: A blend of two varieties considered the classics of the Durbanville wine ward, with fresh, crisp Sauvignon blanc flavours combining with Merlot’s red berry fruits. Made in a just off-dry style, the wine appears dry and promises broad appeal.

FOOD: Can be enjoyed with light meat dishes, especially white meats, and complements seafood, pizza and pasta, as well as cheese platters and salads.
